Dark Rapture

His eyes slither around the room, drinking in the dark shadows.  With jewelled lips, oiled bodies, a whisper of leather and squeak of vinyl, denizens of the night flex tense muscles and wait.
A tiny smile turned upwards. He would tempt them out.
Minders perch overlooking the masses. Stone hands at their sides; ready.
Its time. He flicks a switch. A deep thump begins, reverberating through bodies; beating in time with hearts. Blood pumps as the tempo rises. Bodies writhe. Hands grasp toward the sky reverently. Glittering lights sparkle.
His music hauls the enraptured crowd onto the dance floor.

This flash fiction was written specifically as an entry into Caroline Smailes 100 word Flash Competition.  I've blogged about it here .

The Story had to be inspired by a song found on Youtube last year. I chose my favourite song "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz.  A pity the video clip was so rubbish; just as well it doesn't take away from the great tunes.

Wish me luck - and if you have time - DO pop over to Caroline's site and enter it yourself!!

I don't know the tune, but the description makes me think Metallica concert meets vampires. Very cool!
